EXHIBITION ON NOW until 19 March 2006.
Tells the story of this famous Sydney suburb - the people, ideas and institutions that have shaped it - and how Australia and the world came to love it.

Famous for being famous, Bondi has regaled Australia with a continual stream of controversy, scandal and sensation. In a history littered with brawls, bikinis, crimes, characters, bombs and battles over development Bondi has lived up to its reputation as Australia's most colourful suburb, a microcosm of Sydney writ large.

Monday, 6 March 2006 - Exhibition "Women of Note" This exhibition comprises a selection of photographs by David Franklin of Australian women who have achieved outstanding recognition in both the fine music and jazz fields.The Exhibition will be on display at the library from 6-12 March.

Thursday, 23 March 2006 - Forever Fabulous til 25 March, to create Forever Fabulous an exhibition celebrating our fabulous older residents, a photographer will attend Oxford St Mall to photograph shoppers aged 55+. 12 photos will be selected for publication and display during Seniors Week. Sunday, 26 March 2006 - Play Reading The Actors' Forum will present Chekhov's Old Shorts a compilation of the Russian master's early "entertainments", translated and adapted by the major British playwright, Michael Frayn The play reading will be held at Waverley Library Theatrette on 26 March commencing at 2.pm .Tickets will be on sale at door from 1 pm $20/15.

Wednesday, 29 March 2006 - Urban Arts Base Exhibition til 9 April, at the Bondi Pavilion. An exhibition of works by young people who are recovering from mental illness celebrating their skills, creativity and courage. Phone: 9362 3400
